No plane, no gain?
I do have a rule I've set for myself: try not to use a plain. Instead, try to hitch-hike as much as possible, either over land or by boat. Hitch-hiking is fun! It really is. It's an adventure. You never know when you'll get a ride or who that person is, whether you'll get along, or where you'll end up today. You will have to face rejections many times, but that one person who eventually pulls over and gives you a ride, will give you instant happiness and will obliterate the hundreds of others who didn't stop.
Open yourself up, be brave, put your thumb or sign up (or just ask directly), and be ready to meet the worlds most funny, weird, friendly, awkward, generous people you will ever know.
